Our local community has formed a charity and has successfully purchased part of Buckenham Woods, an ancient woodland and county wildlife site in rural Norfolk (UK), and to become its caretakers.
Having raised over £70,000 from grants and crowdfunding we have been able to purchase this land. We now need to invest in access, interpretation and wildlife surveys to inform and implement a management plan to protect and enhance the woodland and its enjoyment by the community and visiting public.
