Upcoming events

17–21 August, contractors will be completing important upgrade and maintenance work on the telecommunications mast. The works are fairly extensive and will involve:

• Multiple contractors on site

• A crane

• Vehicles positioned close to the mast

• Temporary footpath closures in the surrounding area

We appreciate your understanding during this short period of disruption.

We invite you to lend a hand in Buckenham Wood as part of our ongoing woodland management plan. These work days are a great opportunity to connect with nature, meet like-minded people, and make a real difference to the health of Buckenham Wood.

Regular woodland work days

• Wednesday 12th August (12pm-2pm)

• Sunday 16th August  (12pm-2pm)

Where to meet:

•  Meet the volunteer coordinator by the BAWT noticeboard. Located on the northern boundary path.

Possible tasks:

• Removing sycamore saplings

• Clearing a fence line, removing wire and posts, and cutting vegetation

• Clearing logs and brushwood from the 'sandy bank'

• Moving brash

• Edging paths with natural material

• Clearing vegetation around seating

• Cutting back vegetation encroaching on paths

Each session will support different aspects of our woodland management plan. While the specific tasks are still being finalised, they may include some of the things listed above. We’ll share more details closer to each date, (including times) so you’ll know what to bring and how to prepare.
